Description
Scales Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It features a timber frame or clay lump construction on a brick base, and is rendered with a steeply pitched hipped thatched roof. The cottage has a three-cell lobby entry plan and stands two storeys tall with a plinth. The entrance is located to the right of centre and includes a recessed door supported by small brackets for the hood. The windows are 20th-century, consisting of two and three light leaded pane flush frame casements, with hoodboards on the ground floor. There is an axial ridge stack located behind the entrance and a 20th-century stack at the rear left. The interior has not been inspected.
