House, now 2 houses. C16, W wing C17, renovated in early C18, divided in C19. Timber frame roughcast with steep old red tiled roof, rear slope of W wing slated. A 2-cells, 1 1/2-storeys house facing E with taller single-bay, 2 storeys and attic, added W parlour wing facing N (No. 9). N front has one 2-lights casement window to each floor in each part of the building, with door to LH of window in each. Large red brick C17 W gable external chimney to wing. Lean-to extension to S end of E range. This is of 2 bays and originally open to the roof. The insertion of the floor required the cutting of a tie-beam which was encased in the middle of the inserted central chimney with back-to back fireplaces and stair on W side. Exposed timber of tie-beam and collar in front wall with clasped-purlin roof. Jowled posts, unjowled mid-bay posts, and straight tension braces. N room has chamfered and stopped joists and axial beam. 2 2-panel fielded doors with H-hinges. Later wing has catslide rear outshut, with strucutral rear wall exposed with heavy curved tension braces. Axial beams carry floors. Jowled posts, clasped-purlin roof, thin straight wind-braces. Dark weatherboarded E gable over roof of E range.
