Description

This barn, dating to the 17th century, is located at Elm Tree Farm. It is a timber-frame structure with a tarred brick sill and dark weatherboard cladding, topped with a steep roof of old red tiles. The barn has three bays facing north and features a projecting, gabled porch centrally located on the north side, with a dovecote in the upper portion of the porch gable. Notable features include jowled posts, straight tension braces, and a roof with a single purlin on each slope, supported by convex curved queen-posts.
