Description
Ivy Cottage is a house that dates back to the 17th century or earlier, with renovations and a north wing added in the later 20th century. It features a timber frame on a brick sill, with exposed timbers and plaster panels that have a basket-weave pattern, topped by steep old red tile roofs. The house is T-shaped and faces south, consisting of a 1.5-storey short hall range and a lower 2-storey west crosswing that projects only to the rear. The 2-storey north wing added in the 20th century is not of special interest. The windows are leaded casements, which have been renewed. The entrance is located on the left-hand side of the crosswing's gable end, with a 3-light casement window to the right and another on the first floor. The higher hall range has a 3-light casement on the ground floor, a single-light window aligned with a large internal east gable chimney, and a gabled dormer at the eaves that projects forward with a plastered cove below. The entire frame leans to the left-hand side.
