Description

Shilley Green Farmhouse and the adjoining stable date from the early 18th century. The farmhouse features a timber frame on a stuccoed sill, with roughcast and painted brick on the front to the right of the door, topped by a steep old red tile roof. There is a slate roof on the lean-to extension to the west. The stable is linked by a red brick and slate structure to the timber-framed, dark weatherboarded stable, which also has a slate roof and a lower eastern section that is similar in style.

The house is 1½ storeys high with two main rooms and faces south. The entrance leads into an originally unheated west room, with an internal gable chimney located at the east end. The south front of the house features three gabled dormer windows at the eaves, two flush three-light casement windows (which have been renewed), and a central six-panel door (also renewed) set in a heavy frame beneath a hipped tiled hood supported by shaped braces, now propped by two posts. There is a French door in a glazed screen leading to the link on the right-hand side.

The stable has two shallow windows under the eaves and a central door on each floor. At the rear of the house, there are box dormers and a red-brick slated central outshut.
