7/98 Ivy Lodge - GV II

House. C18, remodelled early C19. Timber frame on low brick sill, plastered, with low pitched slate roofs and wide painted eaves soffit. A tall 2-storeys 3-windows long house set back behind former public house facing N into its garden. Narrow 2-storeys, 2 windows long wing, set back to LH. Internal-chimney, lobby-entry plan building widened to front by about 2M in early C19. New N front has entrance to right of 2-storeys bow window with curved flush sash windows of 10/10 panes. Similar flush box sashes with 10/10 panes on each floor toward ends of main range. 4-panels moulded early C19 door in wide reeded surround with corner blocks and paterae. Gothick ornamental band over. Roman Doric porch with slender timber columns. Interior has C18 surround to hall fireplace but reeded dado rail and casing to bow window. Reeded door surround with paterae blocks to parlour at W. Stair rises behind chimney from hall.
