Description
The Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features a timber frame that is roughcast, with the ground floor of the southern part encased in painted brick, as well as the northern gable of the northern part. The house has steep old red tile roofs, and there is a slated rear outshut on the northern part with a catslide roof.
This two-storey house has three cells and is set back from the road, facing east. The front eaves of the northern part extend down to the front wall of the single-storey section. Inside, there is a large internal axial chimney with three conjoined diagonal shafts. The west front includes a two-light window to the left of the door in the lower northern part, and there are two three-light casement windows on each floor of the southern part, with a door in the middle. The catslide rear outshut features a flat-topped dormer, and the purlin ends and wallplate ends are visible in the northern gable.
