Description

These barns, located about 30 meters east of Batlers Green House, date from the 16th or 17th century and were altered and extended in the 19th century. They feature a timber frame, with some parts exposed, sitting on a brick base. The structure includes brick nogging and weatherboarding, topped with a tiled roof that is half hipped at one end. The barns consist of six or seven bays with a broken axis and have scattered windows facing the house. There is a brick extension that runs at right angles towards the house. Inside, the barns have queen struts clasping purlins and curved braces to straight tie beams. They are included in the listing for their group value.
