Description

A group of barns dating to the 18th and 19th centuries, situated bordering Riseley Road in Bolnhurst and Keysoe. The most significant building is a large, 18th-century four-bay barn, listed for its architectural qualities. This barn has weatherboarding over a timber frame, resting on a brick plinth, and is covered by a pantiled roof. Three further barns, forming a link between this main barn and the farmhouse, are listed as contributing to the group value of the farmstead. One is a 19th-century single-bay brick structure with an old clay tile roof. Another is an 18th-century two-bay timber-framed barn with brick infill, a corrugated iron roof, and a rebuilt brick southwest wall. The third is a 19th-century low, L-shaped brick building with an old clay tile roof. All four barns have road-facing elevations painted black, with their main entrances located on their southeast sides.
