Description
Russet Barn is a former barn that has been converted into a house, dating from the 17th or 18th century. It was repaired in the 19th century and altered in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame resting on a brick base and is weatherboarded with a tiled roof that is half hipped at both ends. It consists of six bays, with entrances located in bays 2 and 5, one of which has part-glazed, inserted casements. At the rear, there are hipped midstreys on the entrance bays, along with additional inserted casements and entrances. The gable end facing the road is made of stock brick, with weatherboarding on the upper level. Inside, the barn retains straight braces, posts, and tie beams, as well as angled queen struts that clasp the purlins. The building is included for its group value.
