Description
Darnells Barn is a former barn that has been converted into a house, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with alterations made in the 1970s. The structure features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and has a tiled roof. It consists of three bays and has 20th-century windows in the gable ends, along with bargeboarded gables. There is an entrance and a 20th-century link to a brick addition on the eastern side, as well as a one-storey brick shed attached to the western side. Inside, the barn has straight braces connecting jowled posts to cambered tie beams, and the roof is now ceiled with a queen post truss. A middle rail and one strut are exposed in the northeast section.
