Description

A pair of stone urns located in the garden at Benington Park, approximately 70 meters to the northeast of the house, date from the late 18th century. They are made of close-grained grey stone and serve as Neo-classical garden ornaments, standing about waist height. Each urn features a plain cubic base that supports a carved stone drum, which has moulded and gadrooned bases topped with flambeau designs. The urns also display low relief carvings depicting processions to sacrifices at altars, with the northern urn featuring an elephant in the procession.
