Description
The granary south of the farmhouse at Finches Farm is a late 18th-century structure that has been repurposed as a coalhouse and store. It features a timber frame raised on a tarred red brick plinth and is dark weatherboarded with a steep red tile roof. This tall, single-storey granary is oriented east-west and is located slightly to the south of the house, with a door at each end. The west gable has a central boarded door with a ladder. Inside, there is a heavy framed suspended ground floor and loft floor, with bins remaining along the sides of the ground floor. The roof is supported by side purlins. The eastern half of the granary has been altered, revealing red brick from a former hearth at the east end. The south side features two small openings near the eaves, one of which is louvred and the other glazed. This building is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
