Description
Gosmore Barn is a barn with attached sheds that has been converted into two houses. It dates from the late 17th century, with lower wings added in the early 19th century, and was converted into residential properties in the 1980s. The structure features a timber frame resting on a renewed red brick sill, with the frame exposed and white panels. The eastern range has a flint rear wall with brick piers facing the lane. It has a steep old red tile roof that is hipped at the east end, while the wings have slated roofs with hipped ends. The former double barn faces south and includes two gabled porches, with lower ranges extending southward from each end. Each house has a half with an entrance set back in the gabled porch, two gabled dormers at the eaves, and a window below each dormer. The windows are two-light casements. Red brick chimneys are located at the center of the block, at the west gable, and on the rear roofslope at the northeast. The building is included for its group value.
