House. C16. Timber frame, roughcast with steep old red tile roofs, half hipped W end of kitchen wing. A 2-storeys, 3-cell house facing S with a single-storey kitchen in line to W and a long-storey dairy wing projecting N from the kitchen. House has 4 structural bays, the end bays partitioned with parlour at E and service rooms at W. Formerly separate 2-bay outside kitchen at W still open to roof, with stair to chamber over the dairy on N. Lower bay of hall has chimney backing onto staircase and cross- passage. Inserted internal gable chimney at E for parlour. Central chimney inserted in kitchen. Interior has exposed close- studding and curved tension-bracing in house and dairy wing. Jowled posts with clasped-purlin roofs, in house with wind-braces and edge-halved scarf joint with bridled butts in N wallplate. Kitchen has jowled posts, angle-ties, close-studding, and cambered tie-beams, with E corner posts about 0.5m from house.
