Description
This house, located to the southeast of the junction, dates from the 17th century or earlier and was divided with a northern lean-to added in the early 19th century. It features a timber frame that is roughcast, with a dark weatherboarding apron and lean-to, topped by a steep thatched roof that is half-hipped at the south but extends down over the low northern extension. The building is one and a half storeys high and has a three-cell layout with a central chimney and a lobby-entry plan, facing west. The front has five windows on the ground floor and includes one eyebrow dormer. A large rebuilt central chimney rises from the rear of the ridge, positioned a third from the northern end, with a door aligned with it that is shielded by a boarded screen. There is also a later chimney on the northern gable with a lean-to extension beyond. The windows are small-paned flush casements that have been renewed. Inside, the middle room features chamfered joists and an axial beam.
