Description

Orchard Cottage is a house dating from the 18th century, or possibly earlier, with alterations to the north end in the 19th century. The house is timber-framed and roughcast, with steep, old red tile roofs. The north end has been cased in yellow brick, and there is a small brick wing to the rear with a low-pitched slate roof. It is a long, two-storey house with a central chimney. The north end is one and a half storeys high, with a dormer window at the rear. The top of the central chimney has been rebuilt. A lateral chimney is located at the northwest of the north part of the house. There are three windows on the west front, with a lean-to extension to the left. The windows are small-paned sash windows, replacements. The north gable has casement windows on each floor, with segmental arches, and a door to the left.
