Description
Green End Park Hotel is a country house built in the early 19th century, likely around 1825 for Nathaniel Chauncy Snell. The building has been enlarged to the south and features buff brick with stucco bands and reveals, topped with slate roofs. It is a compact double-pile structure with two storeys, and the entrance is located on the east side, adjacent to a bow-fronted dining room that connects to a northern service wing. The design creates symmetrical elevations on both the south and west ends.
The south front, facing the garden, has projecting wings with wide bracketed eaves that form open pediments above each wing. The tall ground floor is accentuated by a stucco band at the level of the first-floor window sills. Recessed sash windows with stucco reveals are present, featuring three central windows with 6/6 panes and a triple sash window in each wing on both floors. The central glazed door is topped with a fanlight that aligns with the height of the tall flanking sash windows, and flat gauged arches are used above the windows. The building is capped with octagonal brick chimney shafts. The east front includes an Ionic portico in antis.
