Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, with a rear wing added in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick featuring black headers arranged in a regular pattern at the front. The cottage has steep roofs covered with old red tiles, although the front slope is slated. The original house has a three-unit central-chimney plan and faces east, with an internal gable chimney located at the southern end. The entrance door is positioned a third of the way from the southern end, while the central chimney is a third from the northern end. The northern gable is rendered. The cottage is two storeys high and has three windows on the east front, which feature segmental gauged arches on the ground floor. The windows are three-light flush casements, and there is a six-panel flush beaded door set in a heavy frame beneath a segmental arch.
