Description
Standonfriars Cottage, located 14 meters to the northeast of the farmhouse, is a house that dates back to the 16th century and was altered in the 18th century. It features a timber frame that is roughcast, with the northern side cased in red brick and a weatherboarded upper floor on the main range to the south. The cottage has an old red tile roof and is designed in a T-plan, consisting of a two-storey main range and an east crosswing that projects only to the south. It has casement windows and a lean-to extension on the south side. A large central chimney is situated at the junction of the wing and the main range, with the entrance located on the south. This building is the oldest surviving structure on the site of a Preceptory of the Templars.
