Description

This bridge, built in 1817, is one of a series of prefabricated bridges over the New River. It features cast-iron girders with perforated spandrels and ornamental keystones that display the date of construction. The girders have a convex chordal profile, and the span of the bridge is approximately 4.5 meters. It is inscribed with "New River Co." and "Priestfield Iron Works near Bilston" from Staffordshire. Currently, the bridge supports a flat concrete slab for the roadway.
