Description

Nos. 19, 21, and 23 West Street is a terrace of three houses built in the late 17th century, with alterations from the 18th century. The houses are timber-framed and stuccoed, featuring masonry lining on the first floor. The ground floor is colourwashed brick, while the right-hand (west) flank elevation is made of dark brown stock brick laid in Flemish bond. The roof is covered with old tiles.

The terrace is two storeys high with attics and a basement. On the first floor, there are four flush-set 12-pane sash windows with moulded architrave surrounds arranged in a 2:1:1 pattern. The ground floor features one 16-pane flush-set sash window on the left, along with a 12-pane and a 9-pane sash window. There are three doors with stone steps, each topped with segmental curved hoods supported by cut profiled consoles.

The roof includes three gabled dormers, with the left dormer having two 20th-century top-hung windows. The centre dormer has a Yorkshire sash window, while the right dormer features divided casements. A substantial red brick chimneystack with a band and four pots is positioned forward of the ridge to the left of centre, and there are two brown brick stacks on the right.

The interior has not been inspected.
