Description
Footstep Cottage is an 18th-century timber-framed house with plaster cladding, situated on the west side of Basbow Lane. It has an old red tile roof. The two-storey, three-windowed east front features a door with a moulded architrave. Two 19th-century casement windows are present on the north side, while the other windows are modern replacements. The north end of the property (No. 41) was likely an addition to the original house. Inside No. 39, there is an early 18th-century fireplace with bolection moulding in the front room.
