House, with possible non-domestic origins, converted to form a pair of cottages C17 with C18 alterations, further altered and extended C20. Timber-framed, now plastered, with peg-tiled roof central stack of red brick with plain capping and C20 extensions to rear. 'T' plan house, originally rectangular pair, with rear addition. East elevation 2 storeys, 2 bays, detached at south end, with doorways at each end below shallow bracketted hoods. Door to south a reset C18 4-panel type with fielded panels; door to north a C20 4-panel type. Between the doors, 2 windows to each floor, all hornless glazing bar sashes, 6 over 6 panes, below cornice hoods. West elevation with catslide roof is of 3 storeys with C20 weatherboarded lean-to. C20 extension to south. Interior not inspected but information provided by owner confirms presence of exposed timber framing in oak and elm, including stout primary bracing, and a face-halved and bladed scarf joint in south wall top plate.
