Description

No 28, known as Simmons, is an early 19th century front built on a 17th century timber frame. The building features yellow stock brick with red pointing and has a slate roof. It stands three storeys high and has three windows. The original sashes on the first and second floors have rubbed brick lintels above them. There are thin full height pilasters on either side of the building and a plain eaves cornice. The ground floor has modern shop fronts. Additionally, there is a wrought iron lamp-holder situated between two first floor windows on the north side. At the back, there is a 19th century weatherboarded gabled block.
