Description

The ice house located about 20 meters southeast of Roxford House is an early 18th-century structure. It is built of red brick and features a segmentally vaulted chamber that is entirely below ground, with no visible mound. The chamber measures approximately 10 meters by 3 meters. Access is provided by steps leading down to a separately vaulted entrance passage, which includes a segmental-headed plank door and an arched niche. There are grated filling holes at the top, a niche at the end, and a drain in the floor.
