This asset was previously listed twice also under List entry 1268688 in the Parish of Ware Rural. The entry was removed from the List on 01/12/2014.

Farmhouse. Late C17, refronted c.1840-50 in Gothic style. Largely brick built now covered by stucco with steep red tile roofs. A large L-shaped house of 2-storeys, attics and cellar, facing S. Later low extensions in the rear angle. Main range has a room on each side of a central stairhall. NE wing possibly a near-contemporary service wing. Lower block on W of S wing probably timberframed under stucco. Main house has a symmetrical S front of 3-windows with roll-topped Gothic parapet rising to a central gabled dormer with triangular headed casement window, string courses, and 2-light casement windows to 1st floor. Central Tudor- arched doorway with moulded label and small shields in the spandrels, enclosed by a modern gabled conservatory. Projecting castellated bay windows with triple sash windows, flank the door. Projecting lower 2-storey block on W similarly treated with tall sash window on 1st floor and a low double sash window below. Interior has chamfered and stopped beam in kitchen and slender Cl9 stair with cast iron support to the wreath,
