Description

Westmill Farm House is a late 17th-century farmhouse that was refronted in the Gothic style around 1840 to 1850. It is primarily constructed of brick, now covered with stucco, and features steep red tile roofs. This large L-shaped house has two storeys, attics, and a cellar, and it faces south. There are later low extensions at the rear angle. The main range includes a room on each side of a central stair hall, while the northeast wing may serve as a near-contemporary service wing. The lower block to the west of the south wing is likely timber-framed beneath the stucco.

The symmetrical south front of the main house has three windows and is adorned with a roll-topped Gothic parapet that rises to a central gabled dormer featuring a triangular-headed casement window. There are string courses and 2-light casement windows on the first floor. The central Tudor-arched doorway has a moulded label and small shields in the spandrels, and it is enclosed by a modern gabled conservatory. Flanking the door are projecting castellated bay windows with triple sash windows. The projecting lower two-storey block to the west has a tall sash window on the first floor and a low double sash window below.

Inside, the kitchen features a chamfered and stopped beam, and there is a slender 19th-century staircase supported by cast iron at the wreath.
