Description
Number 2 Chapmore End is a house that likely dates from the late 16th century, with a 17th-century lean-to outshut. It features a timber frame that is rendered to resemble ashlar and has weatherboarding. The roof is thatched and the building has two bays and two storeys. The gable end faces the road and includes a part-glazed plank door with a two-light small pane flush frame casement window to the left, both under a simple hood. There is a similar window on the first floor. The building has exposed plates and purlins.
To the right, there is a catslide roof over a later continuous lean-to outshut, which has two two-light small pane metal frame casements on the right return. The left return features two stacks; the front bay stack is 19th-century stock brick and external, while the rear bay stack is late 17th-century or 18th-century red brick and internal. The rear has weatherboarding and a first-floor two-light small pane metal frame casement. There are also one-storey weatherboarded outbuildings with an entrance.
Inside, there is a ground floor inglenook fireplace and stop-chamfered joists, while the first floor features a curved passing brace.
