Description
Farmhouse at Brand's Farm, built in the 1880s, is designed in the Arts and Crafts style. It features red brick construction and an old tile roof, standing two storeys tall. The southeast entrance front includes a projecting gable end on the east side. The house has sash windows with segmental, rubbed brick heads, and there are tile creasing floorbands along with other tile creasing courses. The entrance door is topped with a wooden, moulded, segmental hood supported by large double consoles. Above the door is a window with a similar moulded head that breaks the eaves. On the ground floor, there is a pair of 4/4 sash windows, while the first floor features triple-hung 4/4 sashes in the gable end. The southwest elevation includes a two-storey window bay with a single sash on the ground floor and a central double sash on the first floor. The northeast elevation has a tall stair window and various other sash windows. Inside, the farmhouse boasts coved cornicing and a very good dogleg staircase with tapering angle posts.
