Description

Two houses, Back Lodge (south) and Yewtree Cottage (north), likely date back to the 17th century or earlier. They have a timber frame structure with a 17th-century red brick exterior, with a later, mid-19th century re-windowing. "Back Lodge" features an old tile roof and a south gable which is part weatherboarded and part plastered, with two large, exposed posts. It is two storeys high and has various small, 19th-century casement windows on the east side. The west-facing entrance elevation has a central, latticework, tile-hung porch and a bracketed, tiled porch on the north side. The upper floor has three-light, two-pane casements. Yewtree Cottage is constructed of yellow/red stock brick with a slate roof, also two storeys high, and features triple casement windows on both the front and back. The east side has latticework and bracketed porches, both tile hung.
