Description
Moat Farm House is a house that likely dates back to the 16th century or earlier. It is constructed of red brick and features an old tile roof, forming a T shape. The house is completely surrounded by a wet moat. The east-west range is two storeys high, while the west cross wing is two and a half storeys, built in the later 17th century. This cross wing has two large external chimneystacks on the west side, which are stepped towards the top and have diagonal set shafts. Between the chimneystacks is a two-storey, tiled projection. The large windows on the north elevation have angled brick hood moulds. The east range, which is from the 18th century and later, imitates the details of the cross wing and has three modern casement windows.
