Description
Lane End Cottages is a block of three houses built in the early 19th century. The cottages have a timber frame and are white weatherboarded above a dark weatherboarded apron, topped with a dark red tile roof. This long, two-storey block faces east and features two tall red brick chimneys with diagonally set shafts. The three houses are arranged in a line, with the end houses accessed at the gable ends. At the rear, there are two single-storey hipped kitchen wings. The east front has three flush triple-sash windows on each floor, all with small panes, and double sash windows at each end. Each house has a half-glazed panelled door, which is sheltered by an open trellis gabled porch that includes a fan design in the spandrels of the entrance arch and seats in the weatherboarded lower part.
