Description

Farmhouse at Nobles Farm, dating from the early 19th century, includes an older rear wing. It is constructed of grey brick with a slate hipped roof featuring a plastered soffit and wide eaves overhang. The two-storey timber-framed rear wing is roughcast and has a steep old red tiled roof, with a similar single-storey building aligned to the rear. The L-shaped house has two storeys and a cellar, facing north, with a rear outshot and a rear wing facing east into the farmyard.

The house is symmetrical with three windows and a single-pile layout, featuring end chimneys and five steps leading up to the central door. A projecting plinth and pilasters define three full-height panels. The narrower middle panel contains a recessed sash window with a gauged flat arch and six-over-six panes above the door. There are similar sash windows with eight-over-eight panes on both floors to each side. The central entrance features a six-panel door within a pilastered doorcase, complete with corner blocks and paterae, a rectangular fanlight, and a flat gauged arch. Additionally, there are two casement windows in the kitchen wing at the rear, located to the left of the panelled side door, which is accessed by steps and has a moulded surround with corner blocks.
