Description

Nasty TL 32 SE GREAT MUNDEN MUNDEN ROAD (east side)

5/21 Farmhouse at Nobles Farm - (along track 200m from road)

GV II

House. Early C19 incorporating older rear wing. Grey brick and slate hipped roof with plastered soffit to wide eaves overhang. Timber frame 2 storeys roughcast rear wing with steep old red tiled roof and similar single-storey building in line to rear. A 2 storeys and cellar L-shaped house facing N, with rear outshot and rear wing facing E into farmyard. A symmetrical 3 windows single-pile house with end chimneys and 5 steps to the central door. Projecting plinth and pilasters define 3 full-height panels. Narrower middle panel has a recessed sash window with gauged flat arch and 6/6 panes over the door. Similar sash windows with 8/8 panes on both floors to each side. 6-panel door in pilastered doorcase with corner blocks and paterae, and rectangular fanlight and flat gauged arch. 2 casement windows to kitchen wing at rear to left of panelled side door of house up steps with moulded surround and corner blocks.
