Description
West Coombe Farmhouse is a farmhouse with a front wing dating from the 19th century and a rear wing likely originating in the 17th century, which is probably the original part of the house. The front wing is constructed of stone, with the south gable plastered, while the rear wing is made of brick on a stone base, raised in plastered cob. The building has slate roofs and brick stacks and stands two storeys tall.
The main elevation features a part-glazed panelled door. On the ground floor, there are two double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, and the first floor has three similar windows. The rear wing's south elevation includes one ledged door and one blocked door opening. The ground floor of the rear wing has one horizontally sliding sash window with glazing bars, while the first floor has one similar window and one casement window with glazing bars. Inside, the rear wing contains a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and moulded ceiling beams.
