Description
High Cliff Cottage is a farmhouse built in the mid-19th century, featuring a large rear wing from the 17th century. The front is made of dressed stone, while the rear is constructed from roughly coursed stone, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. The building has a central-entrance plan, is two storeys high, and includes three bays with a central door that has an overlight above it. On the ground floor, there is one segmental sash window and one flat-headed sash window, while the first floor has three windows with stone lintels and sills. The 17th-century wing features an 8-light double-chamfered stone mullion window on each side wall, each with a king mullion and four of the mullions removed. The first floor of this wing has a 4-light and a 5-light mullion window, each with two mullions removed. There is also a blocked door opening in the gable, which has a heavy lintel and a chamfered surround.
