Description

The Village Pump is a 19th-century cast iron pump located beside the road in the middle of the village green at Allen's Green. It stands approximately 5 feet high and features two rings on its barrel. The pump has a moulded corbel to the chamber and a cap flange at the top. The maker's plaque is not readable. It includes a bracket for the handle and a bold projecting downturned spout at the higher ring on the barrel, which has a spur to retain a bucket. The pump is currently disused.
