Description
No 66 Baldock Road is a house that dates from the 18th century or earlier and was renovated in the early 19th century. It features a timber frame on a stucco sill, with roughcast walls and old panelled pargetting. The roof is covered with red tiles and has a large canted hipped roofed open porch. The house is two storeys tall with attics and faces south.
There are three gabled dormers and three upper windows, along with a central porch and flanking windows. The windows are two-light flush casements with small panes, while the ground floor has three-light windows with dripboards. The entrance features a six-panel door with raised and fielded panels, the top two of which are glazed, situated under the canted porch that has three-centred arched openings, sunk spandrels, and shaped posts.
The house has an external chimney on the north gable and a catslide lean-to at the rear. There is also a large gable chimney on the east side with offsets, and the gable bargeboards are pierced and wavy, similar to those on the dormers.
