Description
No 34 High Street is a house dating from the 18th century, with a rear wing that may be older. It is a symmetrical two-storey building with three windows, likely constructed from timber framing and covered in plaster. The house features an old red tiled gabled roof with internal gable chimneys. The central entrance has a half-glazed door beneath an open porch. The eaves cornice is interrupted by the upper windows. Above the door, there is a sash window with six over six panes, while the outer windows on both floors have eight over eight panes. At the rear, there is a two-storey section under a slated roof extension, which is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a slightly oversailing plastered upper floor. This 18th-century house is part of a group of buildings to the south and opposite, located within the village Conservation Area.
