Description

LITTLE BERKHAMSTED HOWE GREEN TL 20 NE (East side) 7/92 Laurel Cottage 24.11.66 - II

House. C18, altered early C19, extended C20. Timber frame and stock brick, weatherboarded. Slate roof. 3 bays. 2 storeys. Ground floor: entrance between centre and left bays, 6 raised panelled door with Gothic open timber porch, 4 centred arches, coved head with finial. Flanking flush frame glazing bar sashes with external shutters, first floor has 3 similar sashes. Boxed eaves. Left end stack and cross axial stack to right of centre. 1 storey flat roofed weatherboarded out- building projects from right front. Right gable end wall is stock brick with C20 ground floor window. Parallel range to rear extends further to right with right end extruded stack. Left end of front range has a 1 storey C20 out shut which is linked to an earlier black weatherboarded outbuilding with a pantiled roof, door and 2 light casement to front, double doors in left gable end. Interior not inspected.
