Description

This is a farmhouse located at Rigery Farm, set along a track 900 meters from the road. It dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with a 17th-century south wing and a 20th-century west wing. The building features an exposed timber frame with plastered panels, a brick sill, and steep old red tile roofs. It has a T-shaped design with two storeys, although the roof height steps down due to the one and a half storeys of the 20th-century wing on the west side.

At the north end, there is a late medieval former open hall with a cross-passage, likely where the south fireplace is located. A later 17th-century central chimney has been added, along with an inserted floor and dormers. The south wing jetties out at the southern end, supported by large knee brackets. The east front features a tall diagonal stack with recessed corners, two gabled dormers on the lower northern part, and renewed two-light and three-light casement windows, along with a half-glazed door beneath the left-hand dormer. The gabled jettied south end, which was repaired after a collapse around 1975, includes a three-light casement window and French doors below. The 20th-century wing has a main door and three gabled dormers that rise through the eaves. Inside, the farmhouse showcases exposed timbers and a large 17th-century open fireplace with a canted back in the south room.
