1/9 Memorial Sundial at St Edmund's College (RC) (47m to E of front door)

Sundial. Circa 1869. Limestone with circular bronze dial on top. About 1.5m high. A wide octagonal pillar with deep Gothic moulded base, simple octagonal capstone with raised octagonal centre supporting the plate (gnomon missing). Inscribed in Gothic lettering running up each facet of the shaft. Erected to mark the celebration held 8 - 10 June 1869 to commemorate the centenery of founding the school at Old Hall Green.
