Description
The North Barn at Bulstrode Farm, located 40 meters to the northwest of the farmhouse, is a 17th-century barn. It features a timber frame that is dark weatherboarded, with some sections nogged in red brick. The barn has a steep old red tile roof with a bellcast at the eaves. It is a tall structure with three bays, facing south, and includes a double doorway in the middle bay. The barn has stepped jowled posts with straight braces supporting the tie-beams. Mid-height rails are tenoned in-line, and there are straight braces at the corners and two in the central bay. The roof is constructed with clasped purlins, inclined queen struts, collars, and diminished principals. Additionally, there are straight wind braces at each end and two in the central bay, along with a squint butted scarf joint in the wall plate. The farmhouse at Bulstrode Farm is not listed.
