Description
East Barn at Bulstrode Farm is a 17th-century barn located 20 meters north of the farmhouse. It features a timber frame that is dark weatherboarded, with the lower part being brick nogged. The barn has a steep old red tile roof and consists of three tall bays, facing east. In the center of the east side, there is a gabled projecting porch, flanked by lean-to outshuts that are now brick-walled. The north gable is also dark weatherboarded and sits above an adjoining brick-walled building. The structure includes jowled posts with long straight braces connecting to the tie beams, as well as queen-strut and collar trusses within a clasped purlin roof. There are straight tension braces above a half-height rail in the rear wall and full height studs at the front, along with straight wind braces. The wallplates feature face halved bladed scarf joints. The farmhouse at Bulstrode Farm is not listed.
