Description

ALDBURY STOCKS ROAD SP 9612 (East side) 12/8 East Barn at - Town Farm GV II Barn. C18. Timber frame on high red brick sill, dark weatherboarded with a steep old red tile roof. A tall 5-bays barn facing W on E side of yard. Unjowled posts with straight braces to squared tie-beams. Inclined straight struts to principals. 2 butt-purlins in each slope, staggered in line. Long diagonal braces fixed to undersides of rafters in end bays. Central post in end walls, and long diagonal braces intersecting the wall studs. Single wide doors on each side into each end bay, 2 high pitching doors. Central doorways blocked.
