Description
Nos 20 and 22 on St Catherine's Road are a pair of houses built in 1894 by Reginald Blomfield as part of an estate development. They are constructed of red brick with a machine-tile hipped roof, featuring rubbed brick and stone dressings. The building is two storeys high with attics and consists of a single block with eight windows that mimic the style of late 17th century country houses. There are two doors set in broad, gauged-brick, arched recesses, which have stone voussoirs and broken pediments adorned with ball-finial motifs. The windows are sash style, with the end windows being triple-hung on both floors. Additionally, there are six hipped sash dormers, which are double-hung at the ends, and the building has deep, plain eaves.
