Description

Hill Cottage is a house dating to the 17th century, with later alterations. It is timber-framed and plastered, with a half-hipped pegtile roof. The house is of a low two storeys, featuring a timber band on the front representing the original top plate level. Above this, the plasterwork includes a 20th-century chevron pattern pargeting. The front elevation has an off-centre doorway and numerous 19th-century casement windows, some with small panes but the majority with central horizontal glazing bars. A large, rebuilt square stack sits centrally on the ridgeline. A large 20th-century extension wing is at the rear, along with a replacement rear lean-to.
