Description
Wallaces is a house dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and pebble dash, featuring gabled roofs covered in peg tiles. The building consists of a one-storey and attic 'hall' block, along with a two-storey crosswing that has a jettied front on the southwest end. The windows are early 20th century metal casements set in timber frames, with rectangular leaded lights. The front door, located in a baffle entry position, is from the 18th century and has six raised and fielded panels. The ridge line stack is of the 17th century concertina type, and there is a small kitchen stack at the rear of the crosswing. Four joists are visible on the front jetty. Inside, one 17th century door remains, and the inglenook stack is enclosed, featuring an early 19th century mantel shelf.
