Description

The brewhouse to the north of Colville Hall dates from around 1500 or earlier. It is constructed with a timber frame and weatherboarding, with some sections cased in red brick. The roof is covered with red plain tiles. The building is one storey high and two bays long. It was originally heavily framed with arch-braced tie beams but underwent extensive rebuilding in the 18th century. Internally, part of the original hearth and chimney still survive.
