Description
The Queen Victoria Public House is a 17th-century building located on the south side of Stortford Road in Great Dunmow. It features a timber frame with plaster and a thatched gable roof. The main structure is one storey high with attics, and there is a later single-storey extension at the eastern end, which has a low-pitched peg tile roof. This extension includes a gabled porch and a 20th-century flat-topped square bay with casement windows.
The main block has one horizontal sliding casement window with small panes, a flat-topped casement windowed bay also with small panes, a simple boarded door, and one 19th-century casement window located under the eaves. There is a small brick stack on the ridge line and a later tall stack against the eastern gable. Additionally, there is an 'L'-shaped 20th-century extension with a thatched roof on the western end.
