Description
Church Farmhouse is a Grade II listed building located on Church Road in Hempstead. Originally a moated house, the moat is now incomplete. The farmhouse consists of two blocks that stand at right angles to each other, forming a single dwelling. It features timber framing and plaster from the 17th and 18th centuries and underwent renovations in the 20th century. The building has two storeys and attics. The south block dates back to the early 17th century and includes a gabled projection on the north side, which was formerly a staircase projection. The windows are a mix of 20th-century casements and double-hung sashes. The roofs are tiled, and the south block has an original central chimney stack with two diagonally set shafts on a rectangular base.
